One of the perks of being a school bus driver is that you get to go to some really fun places.Sometimes I will go in withthe group and other times I will stay behind and rest or read. Not too long ago I got to drive to Morgan’s Wonderland. Morgan’s Wonderland is a new park in San Antonio. I first learned about the park way back when it was only a dream. Working in construction at the time I was familiar with the name Gordon Hartman Homes. Gordon Hartman is the builder and the park is named for his daughter Morgan. I heard about the park when it wasundergoing the construction phase and I watched the specialon the local TV channelinforming the public about the wonderful new attraction for everyone. I wasintrigued and anxious to find out everything I could.Morgan’s Wonderland was created for children and adults with special needs, their family members, caregivers, friends and the entire community. I was impressed wit Beswick Figurines of Beatrix Potter Characters h the price of admission. Admission is free to special needs persons. For the Person(s) accompanying special needs individuals the admission priceis $10.00. General admission is $15.00 and children under 2 are free.I was intrigued to learn how the park is funded. Next to Morgan’s Wonderlandis the STAR Soccer Complex. The STAR Soccer Complex is a premier soccer facility built on what was once the Longhorn Quarry. The site was developedinto 13 full-size, championship-quality, fully lit fields with one practice field. Also included are facilities such as playgrounds, bathrooms, refreshment stands. The immense size and superior caliberof the STAR Soccer Complex enables San Antonio to provide a much needed complex for various soccer clubsand to accommodate large local, statewide, national and international soccer tournaments. Proceeds from soccer leagues and competitions help support the funding of Morgan’s Wonderland.
